The Slovenian Union of America (SUA) launched a new Cultural Interest Group (CIG) “Slovenia: History, Politics, Current Events,” in June 2025. Open exclusively to SUA members, the quarterly meetings via Zoom, will be co- chaired by SUA-member brothers Dr. Michael Kozuh, professor at Auburn University, and Daniel Kozuh, writer, editor, and media professional.
Together, they will guide members through the complexities of Slovenia’s history, from foundational topics and key historical questions posed by scholars, to evolving political debates and Slovenia’s role in contemporary European issues. Where appropriate, the Kozuhs will invite other Slovenian experts to enrich discussions, ensuring lively and informative sessions on politics, international relations, and more.
This quarterly forum is designed to deepen SUA members’ understanding of Slovenia, support those interested in dual citizenship with new resources, and provide a welcoming space for history enthusiasts and those eager to stay current with Slovenian affairs. By drawing on scholarly insight and creative engagement, this CIG aims to foster a vibrant, well-informed community passionate aboutSlovenia’s past, present, and future.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this CIG, please reach out to mikekozuh+SUAhistory@gmail.com. You must be a SUA member to join a CIG.
