A signed hockey stick of Slovenian hockey star Anže Kopitar, which he used in the 2011-2012 season to win the Stanley Cup with the LA Kings, will be sold in this year’s charity auction of the SPORTO sports marketing conference in Portorož.

Bidding will be under way between 10 October and 15 November. The starting price for the stick with Kopitar’s official markings is EUR 1,500 and the increment was set at EUR 100.

Kopitar, who decided to donate the money raised through the auction for a wheelchair, is known for his charity activities through his Anze’s Eleven group.

He also organises an increasingly traditional charity golf tournament at Lake Bled, at which over EUR 10,000 was raised this year.

In previous years, the annual SPORTO conference has already auctioned items like a signed shoe of football star Ronaldinho, Roger Federer’s tennis gear and Lance Armstrong’s cycling jersey.
